Open networking and whitebox go hand in hand, but the two terms are not interchangeable. In fact, understanding the difference can help you set up your data center for success.

 

Over the years, open and whiteboxing networking have gained popularity in the data center industry, disrupting traditional, legacy networking in its wake. As the open networking revolution has picked up steam, so has the use of new jargon and nomenclature, with a variety of different definitions depending on who you ask.
